Detecting a Prostate Problem

Prostate problems are often noticed though urination, such as an itching or burning sensation when urinating, a dull pressure in the lower abdomen, blood in the urine, or erectile dysfunction.

Imaging plays a key role in the early detection and diagnosis of the diseases. With the most modern methods of magnetic resonance imaging, the prostate, urinary bladder and kidneys can be examined in detail in order to determine the causes of complaints.

PSMA PET-CT

A PSMA PET-CT can show the focus of prostate cancer. This examination has proven particularly useful when the PSA level rises again after the operation for prostate cancer. In this situation, the PSMA PET-CT can detect the smallest tumor foci at an early stage and show where they are. This information enables the attending physician: the attending physician to determine the optimal therapy strategy.
